The School of Health and Applied Sciences at the Polytechnic of Namibia is designated to provide professional programmes aimed at production of cadres concerned with improving public health through; diagnosis (patient care and management), Emergency Medical Care and care for the environment. Also taking on board basic Sciences and Mathematics. This is in line with the vision and mission of the Polytechnic of Namibia which is to be a world-class teaching and research institute.
The School consists of three departments:Â Biomedical Science (includes Emergency Medical Care), Environmental Health and Mathematics & Statistics. Emergency Medical Care will soon become a Department on its own and we also hope to introduce the Department of Natural Sciences in the very near future.
Currently the School offers Bachelor of Science (Bachelor Professional degree) programmes in Biomedical Science, Environmental Health. Bachelor of Science Honors Degree in Mathematics and Statistics and Applied Mathematics, Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Statistics and Applied Mathematics as well as Certificate Course in Emergency Medical Care for which we are already working towards a degree programme.
As a new and young school in the institution we value strategic partnerships with stake holders and other academic institutions in teaching, research, service provision and consultancy.
